Environmentally friendly business practices are becoming more important and Primedia Outdoor recognises that our activities have the potential for both positive and negative impacts on the environment.
The company offers green sustainable products that are recyclable or upcycled and uses substrates that contain no PVC, are chlorine-free, and have a reduced carbon footprint. The company has also donated over 15,000m² of used billboard posters to be recycled, upcycled, and repurposed. Primedia Outdoor supports various recycling and educational programs such as the Go Grow! Educational Gardening Game and Eco Smart Group.
Recently, Primedia Outdoor has partnered with Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA) and local municipalities to launch two new food gardens in Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal, in support of World Food Day and the #LeaveNoOneBehind theme. These food gardens aim to provide sustainable food security for the future and support the communities’ feeding schemes. FTFA offers training to ensure the gardens will thrive for years to come. The Cape Town garden was launched in partnership with the City of Cape Town and will support the school feeding scheme, while the KwaZulu-Natal garden received assistance through the provision of tools and additional training of eco methods to sustain the garden for longer. Primedia Outdoor has funded 10 food gardens across South Africa over the last 12 years, and the projects not only provide communities with food but also create opportunities for employment since they are managed by the community for their benefit.
We are pleased to announce that we are currently developing an ESG strategy and are excited to launch it in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates on our commitment to environmental, social, and governance practices.
